Building Trust

When things go wrong, who is the first person you call?

I was reading Wes Trochlil's newsletter last week about trusting your vendors and it raised some very good questions.

When our clients have a problem with their website, logins, AMS, LMS, and even email, we're often the first people they call. Even when they know the problem isn't on our end, they trust that we can point them in the right direction. More than once, I've reminded even former clients who they need to call at their AMS to get their problem solved. That's right ... former clients!

They still call us.

Because they trust us.

When you consider each of your vendors individually, do you trust that each is looking out for your best interests? Have they taken the time to get to know your organization and what you really need? Or are they simply trying to get through the day and recommend whatever is easiest for them?

We spend so much of our time at work. It shouldn't be too much to ask that we trust the people who support our efforts. Make sure you're surrounded by people and vendors who support what you're doing.
